This is a short survey for a Master's thesis at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), supervised by Davide Fucci (BTH) and Greg Wilson (ThirdBit).
The study looks at whether software engineering practitioners believe common claims found in well known software engineering practitioner books, and compares this against what published research actually shows.
The claims in this survey are rephrased and extracted from established software engineering books. No source or author is attached to individual claims.
Participation is completely voluntary. You can stop at any time without giving a reason. No personally identifying information is collected, and all responses are reported only in aggregate. This survey is hosted on BTH's own infrastructure to comply with GDPR data residency requirements.
The survey takes about 18 to 20 minutes. For each claim, you will rate how much you agree or disagree, with an option to say "I don't know how to answer this" if you are not familiar with the topic. An optional comment box is available under each claim if you want to explain your answer.
We kindly ask you to rate your agreement with the claims reported in the next page. After that, we will ask you to complete basic demographic information related to your work.
